Membership Categories:

Note: One month's notice is required to cancel all membership types.

1. FULL MEMBERSHIP:

For: Junior racers as defined by Snowsport England competition categories. Existing members can stay on as full members when classed as “senior” racers (as defined by Snowsport England) up to an age limit of 25 years.

Eligibility criteria. The Member must:

Meet the age requirements above.
Have been invited to join the club after a successful trial.
Represent the club in races (when it is deemed they are ready to do so).
Be a member of SE at the correct level for competition.

Cost: £85 joining fee (includes Club Race Top) and thereafter the monthly applicable full membership rate. Currently, those rates are: £65 (single athlete), £120 (dual athlete), and £175 (triple athlete). Discounts applied for siblings within Full (or Alpine membership categories), where members are in the same membership category i.e. all on Full or all on Alpine.

Note on Joining Fee: Upon being invited to join the club and accepting membership, a joining fee of £85 is payable per athlete. Once the member has successfully completed their probationary period, this also entitles them to a club race top.

Entitled to:

Attend regular ASRC training sessions twice a week and all club races.
Represent the club at races once coaches have approved that the athlete has reached the required ability level, and in line with experience.
A club race top (paid for by the club), upon successful completion of their probationary period.
Voting rights at the Annual General Meeting according to the Constitution.

Restrictions: None.

2. ALPINE RACING MEMBERSHIP

For: The Alpine Membership is offered in the spirit of supporting those ASRC athletes that wish to participate in Alpine Training & Racing programmes outside of the UK for limited periods. It is intended to be of benefit to the athletes, and also the club through retention of those athletes on their return.

Eligibility criteria. A retrospective 50% refund on membership subscriptions for a specific period will be considered by the committee if the following criteria are satisfied:

The athlete applying must have been an ASRC member for a minimum of 2 years.
The athlete applying must have previously represented ASRC at either regional or national level races in line with group expectations.
Notification of the planned absence must be provided in writing to the Membership Secretary no less than 4 weeks prior to commencing an Alpine Training Programme. This must include a start and end date.
The athlete must be absent from training for a minimum of 8 consecutive weeks, and up to a maximum of 17weeks.
The athlete must have been enrolled with an Alpine Race Club for the full period of absence, based outside of the UK and evidence* of this must be provided (we will accept there might be downtime for Christmas, but athletes may not attend ASRC during this time).
The athlete must have represented their Alpine Race Club in races on snow outside of the UK and evidence** of this must be provided.
The claim must be made once the athlete has returned to training with ASRC, and the refund will be paid once the athlete has completed two months of training.

*Evidence should be sent directly by a coach from the relevant Alpine Race club to the Membership Secretary.

**GBski.com or skiresults.co.uk or equivalent records will suffice

If all of the above criteria has been satisfied, and evidence can be provided, an application for a refund can be submitted to the Membership Secretary. This will be for 50% of the ASRC subscription costs for the duration of the enrolment in an Alpine programme according to the term above.

Cost: Pay 50% membership fees for a period of up to 17 weeks maximum.

Discounts are applied for siblings within Full or Alpine membership categories, where members are in the same membership category i.e. all on Full or all on Alpine.

Entitled to: Return to training once the entire Alpine Training/Racing period is completed. Has voting rights at the Annual General Meeting.

Restrictions: Cannot attend ASRC training whilst paying the reduced membership rate

3. UNIVERSITY MEMBERSHIP:

For: Members who are attending university.

Eligibility criteria. The member must:

Have held full membership, and been an active member of the club for 2 years or more.
Have raced at regional level or above.
Be enrolled in a university course; supporting evidence is required.
Have a current SE membership.

Cost: £10 month

Entitled to: Return to training for a maximum of 12 sessions a year and for any club races. Has voting rights at the Annual General Meeting.

Restrictions: Cannot regularly attend ASRC training.

4. ALUMNI (RACING) MEMBERSHIP:

For: Members who wish to become Alumni members for racing.

Eligibility criteria: The member must:

Have held full membership and been an active member of the club for 2 years OR be a current, or past Coach at the club.
Have raced at regional level or above.
Be 18 years or over.
Have current SE membership.

Cost: £15 per year OR free for currently active ASRC Coaches (must have coached within the last six months).

Entitled to: Emailed newsletter, can race for ASRC at external races, can not race at ASRC Club Races/Championships.

Restrictions: Cannot attend ASRC training.

5. ALUMNI (NON-RACING) MEMBERSHIP:

For: Members who wish to remain connected to the club, but no longer wish to race.

Eligibility criteria:

Have held full membership and been an active member of the club for 2 years.
Have raced at regional level or above.
Be 18 years or over.

Cost: £10 per year

Entitled to: Emailed newsletter.

Restrictions: Cannot attend ASRC training.

Exceptions to our normal membership arrangements can be made at the discretion of the committee.

ADDITIONAL NOTE ON INJURIES:

1) Reimbursement for long term Injury:
If a racer sustains an injury that means they miss 6 weeks or more of training, a request can be made to the treasurer and chair for reimbursement of 66% of the fees for that period. Medical evidence of injury must be provided to demonstrate training was not possible. Once approved by the Committee, payment will be reimbursed.
